Difficulty Level: | 2 of 5 |
Time Needed | 40 min |
Equipment Needed: | Grill, stove |
Ingredients
- One – 1 lb. citrus marinated pork tenderloin
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
You can either grill or smoke the pork tenderloin, depending on your preference or your equipment available. If smoking, run it at 225 degrees and leave the lid closed until it reaches 140 degrees internal temperature. If grilling, allow your grill to come to a medium heat for a few minutes and then lightly wipe the grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Place the tenderloin on the grill, close the lid, and cook for 12 to 15 minutes. You will want to turn the tenderloin frequently and use a meat thermometer to watch the temp closely.
Tenderloin will seem like it is cooking at a steady pace, but once it reaches about 120 degrees, it will finish quickly. Pull the meat once it reaches 140 degrees. Allow it to rest, tented under aluminum foil, for about 10 minutes.
While the tenderloin is resting, make the lemon basil cream sauce. Begin by melting the butter in a small sauce pan. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and stir about 1-2 minutes. Stir in the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil before lowering the heat and simmering until it thickens.
When you are ready to eat, slice the pork and spoon on some cream sauce. You won’t want to stop eating this meal … delicious!
